The first tune, a slow strathspey found in the Athole and Simon Fraser collections, refers to Rob Og, the youngest son of the Rob Roy of cattle thieving fame. Rob Og was executed for the abduction of the heiress of Edinbelly in 1751. The reels that follow come from the Athole collection published in 1884.
