about

This track begins with a strathspey in honour of the man. It would be nice to think he would have allowed the occasional dance even if he didn’t take part himself. It’s followed by a tune inspired by a traditional Māori song type & then two pipe tunes, found in a 1930s New Zealand bagpipe collection, are sandwiched in the middle of the Kiwi Reel, composed by the great Shetland fiddler Willie Hunter.
